Sheryl Crow granted restraining order

Sheryl Crow has been granted a temporary restraining order against Phillip Gordon Sparks, the man accused of threatening to shoot the singer-songwriter, The Huffington Post reports.

The restraining order requires Sparks to stay 100 yards away and not attempt to contact Crow, her family or any of her workers, such as her assistants, nanny or managers.

In a sworn statement, the Grammy-winning singer said she fears Sparks after he accused her in vitriolic posts online of stealing money from him and breaking into his house.?Recently, according to Crow, Sparks also went to the Los Angeles offices of an entertainment union, where he told an employee that he was going to "just shoot" Crow. Sparks also threatened to shoot film executive Harvey Weinstein, the employee wrote in a declaration accompanying Crow's filing.

Crow requested the protective order last week. Although the current restrictions on Sparks are temporary, a judge in Santa Monica, California, has scheduled a hearing for August 14th to consider whether to extend the order to three years.
